On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, as part of the Biarritz Piano Festival, the Cité de l’Océan welcomed Thomas Valverde on its wave-shaped rooftop for the “Pianos & Sunset” evening.
The pianist delivered an intimate and sensitive performance, revisiting pieces from all over the world mixed with his own compositions. His playing, both virtuosic and refined, transported the audience into a contemplative atmosphere, perfectly in harmony with the unique setting of a sunset at the Cité de l’Océan.
His latest album, Polka, dedicated to solo piano, reflects the same minimalist and sincere aesthetic.
After the concert, the sound journey continued with a “Pianos & Sunset” mix created by TRANSMEETER, curator and keyboard enthusiast. The program featured jazz, pop, variety, and cinematic textures for a soft and elegant ambiance at dusk.
